I bought a license key. Where do I download the app?

The download page walks you to the right build. License keys work in the direct macOS and Windows builds, which have a field to enter them. The Mac App Store version unlocks through your Apple ID instead and cannot accept a key bought elsewhere, so if you hold a key, take the direct build. Never received your key? Email us with the address you paid with.

Does markdossier require an internet connection?

No. markdossier works completely offline. It's a local app that reads and writes files on your computer. No cloud, no accounts, no login.

What platforms are supported?

markdossier runs on macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later, and on Windows.

Can I use markdossier with my existing markdown files?

Yes. Open any .md file or drag a folder into the sidebar. markdossier reads standard markdown and never modifies your files without your action.

How does hot-reload work with AI agents?

markdossier watches open files for changes using file system events. When an agent (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) writes to a file you have open, the rendered view updates automatically. The sidebar also refreshes when files are created or deleted externally.

What export formats are supported?

Word (.docx), PDF, EPUB, HTML, and LaTeX. Export uses Pandoc under the hood. If you don't have Pandoc installed, markdossier will prompt you to install it.

Is there a trial or free version?

markdossier is a one-time purchase of $29.99 - on the Mac App Store, or direct for macOS and Windows. The direct download includes a free trial, so you can try it before buying. There is no subscription. Apple offers a refund within 14 days of an App Store purchase; for direct purchases, email support.

How do I request a feature or report a bug?

Email [email protected] with a description. For bugs, include your macOS version and steps to reproduce. We read every message.
